High ISO

#1 Post by admin »

25600 ISO, loads of colour noise, pretty much unuseable I think.

I've just had a look on the computer & tablet, I think unusable is a bit harsh.
there is noise there but if that was a Moon landing shot you'd be chuffed with it .
The worst bit is the right bottom corner but something was out of focus and a bit bright.
It would be interesting to put them in a comp and see what the judge thought.
I think they are bloody good for the setting's and late night Street photography might be an out let for them.
PS I have to go to the hospital I've cut my hand on the last Blue tit and I'm bleeding badly.
It was a bit sharp .you were right. :ugeek: :ugeek: :ugeek:

I think Gigapixel may have caused the wierd effect on the bright highlight on the first two. I will have a go at re-processing them.

I may have another go at the Blue Tit too.

I wouldn't have used Gigapixel it just doubles the faulťs and at that ISO setting there are bound to be faulťs.
I would just been inclined to use De noise because the only time you will use that kind of setting is
if your desperate to get a shot and its the only thing you have left in the arsenal. 8-)

Re-processed a couple without Gigapixel...

What do you think? The Reed Bunting is 25600 ISO and the Blue Tit is 12800 ISO.

The Blue Tit is still a bit sharp for me .The noise is well under control.
Overall they are loads better. I can't expand them on my computer but the Reedy is great .There is some noise in the dark areas ,
I don't know about you but I can't believe how good they are. If the XH-2 improves on this it will be a really good camera. 8-) 8-) 8-)
PS Next test should be done in over cast conditions ,Then in poor light.
I can't wait.

I can`t believe how good they are too, I would never use the 25600 ISO anyway but I think I would use 12800 if I needed to. The Blue Tit is very sharp but has had no extra sharpening applied, I just try just a bit of blur. :D :D :D
