I`m not impressed with any of my images

It may be hard to see with images on the forum. I need to drastically change some settings on the camera.
The first 2 are straight of camera without processing and the 2nd 2 are after processing.

Emmm!!!
The flyer at the distance we were from it will never be ultra sharp and full of detail.
I haven't even down loaded mine yet to compare, but I will.
The Reedy is not right definitely, l don't know if there is too much detail for me or it's
too sharp, maybe the software isn't up to the job.
Don't forget how despondent I was with the Canon the first few times I had it out.
Ps I've looked at them a couple of times now and they look pretty good really the only thing is
the shoulder on the Reedy looks a little bit over done.

It`s not the sharpness, it`s the noise especially in the background even at 400iso. You can see it a mile off in the full size file.

I can see the noise on the unprocessed ones but not on the processed ones .
but I can't increase the picture size on my computer.
Have you got the in camera de noise on ?.
You're processing on the Reedy has taken the sparkle out of it.

Yeah not too worried about the processing just the noise which does clean up on the final image but you shouldn`t need to clean it up on an iso 400 image.
Just had a look at my images in a bit more detail and I think the noise may be due to 95% of my images being out of focus. In the water bird shots I can clearly see that the camera has focused on the water behind the bird. The camera seemed to be locking on to all the birds but they are not in focus, so there seems to be little point in using bird tracking.

It seems to have locked on to the Egret OK.
I wonder if it gets confused with a fussy background?.
I didn't think any of the focus tracking Camera's are 100% accurate, mine certainly isn't.
